Students created this awareness video to address their concerns about the use of Oil, as well as, to study the environmental impact of the local Gibson's oil plant which is located in their local community - Sexsmith Alberta. As an activism piece, these students also tested the water in their community. |

One Trashy Movie
Students created this awareness video to address their concerns about the amount of garbage found in and around their community - in Sexsmith Alberta. In addition, these students created "Real Change" by picking up garbage in and around their community, as well as, sitting down with our Mayor to discuss the garbage build up near our school as a result of former residential construction - this was cleaned up by 3 backhoes 3 days after their meeting!!! Moreover, they discussed and mapped our local walking paths and have suggested specific spots where more garbage cans were needed. |

Black to Green
Students created this awareness video to address their concerns about the current uses of Fossil Fuels and suggest alternatives types of energy. For their activism piece, they convinced students to walk home, created a twitter account that spread awareness, and even changed their light bulbs to LED. |

Man vs. Plastic (K-Cups)
Students created this "Fictional" awareness video to address their concerns about Keurig K-Cups, Tassimo Pods and Batteries. Keurig K-Cups are not recyclable, Tassimo pods are incredibly hard to recycle and 1 normal AA battery saves 6 lives - Zinc Saves Lives. As an activism piece, these students brought over 1000 batteries to a Zinc Saves Lives drop-off spot. |

The Trees of Life - Deforestation
Students created this awareness video to address their concerns about deforestation. These students spent a school day with a community expert and visited the local Canfor logging plant. For their activism piece, they gave saplings to the students at St. Mary's. |
